Autumn Equinox At The Corner Café
These equinoxes happen in March and September, with the actual date varying slightly from year to year.
For those in the Northern Hemisphere, this is the autumn equinox and our days will now get progressively shorter until we hit the December Solstice - the shortest day of the year.
For those in the Southern Hemisphere, the opposite is true as they are now into their spring and heading gradually towards their summer solstice in December.
So for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, this signals the move into autumn, and all that that brings: the colourful leaves, shorter days, colder nights, etc.
It isn’t everyone’s favourite time of the year, I know, but it can be lovely to walk through woods when the leaves are changing, and great fun to kick your way through those fallen leaves, both for humans and animals.
Just beware of falling acorns on a windy day!! I needed a tin hat on my walk through the woods today!! 😁
