Gardening Through The Year At The Corner Café

Spring time and early summer is my favourite time for the garden. After a long winter and everything looking dead, new life starts and as the days get longer, the plants begin to thrive and give us a lovely early show. A busy time though for sowing seeds indoors and some out, but well worth the effort for later pleasure, either by cut flowers or home grown veg

Autumn brings some lovely colours and some nice days as well. Personally, it’s not a season I like, everything dies off waiting to be reborn in the spring. It’s a time to start sowing seeds and planning for next year.

Most of like us a nice garden all year round. Some love gardening while others just like to look at it. To enjoy your garden it needs to be interesting and have some colour all year round. There are plants that will flower at different times of the year, even in winter.

The pics below show how nice a garden can look at any season of the year. It just needs a bit of careful planning and work.

Oh, the days of long hot summers and lovely colourful gardens. A nice warm evening sitting out with a glass of wine and enjoying the beauty of the flowers and the scents, and admiring all the hard work.

Winter, beautiful to look at but not gardening weather, but please remember to clear a patch of land and feed the birds and give them a clean water supply, as there are so many now on the danger list.

What is your favourite time of year in the garden? What do you use to give colour or structure to a garden? Do you grow your own produce?

Please share your thoughts on or pictures of plants you love, or share pictures of your own gardens, if you wish, or gardens you would love to be yours if you had the space or time.

All are welcome. And please feel free to recommend and share all discussions you enjoy.

There is no obligation to follow any of our informal themes. They are simply for fun. This is an open topic chat thread, so please just post or talk about anything you like!
