Let’s all pucker up and have a good old kiss!!

Welcome to the International Kissing Day thread.  It’s something we have all done at one time or another, either kissed a Parent, Family, Friends and loved ones. Some of us even kiss our pets! The type of kissing differs depending on who you are kissing.

Romantic kissing is not the only type of kissing in our culture. It’s not unusual to greet somebody with a kiss on each cheek, not that people seem to do that in the UK, and it’s a tradition that dates back to the old world.  Children often get kisses from their parents, but this fades with the age of the children.

Kissing is an important role in social bonding and International Kissing Day celebrates this.

Ok, how do we celebrate it? Well wake up and kiss your other half good morning, (maybe not) lol,  greet friends with a quick peck on the cheek or a kiss on the back of the hand of people you hold in high regard.   There are thousands of ways to kiss and not all are romantic. So, today let’s pucker up every chance we get, and just remember the mints !!

International Kissing Day is such a big thing now that other countries have fun-filled methods of celebrating it.  The French blow air kisses instead of their usual greetings. The Greeks and Italians don’t go in for pleasantries, they just walk up and kiss on the lips. The Pacific Islanders use Eskimo kisses - they rub their noses together while they breath in. Hygiene-wise it’s not the most recommended, but romance-wise it’s the best.
