Internet Shopping -v- Trolley Shopping
Ok, shopping is something we all have to do. Like it or hate it, it's a part of our lives, but we do what we can to make it easier. I do both. I do click and collect at Asda for my sins, and home delivery from Waitrose. I go trolley shopping once every 2 weeks, and to be honest, that is enough. I go to Lidl and Aldi cos Lidl don't do online shopping and I do like their stuff.
There are pros and cons to both. Internet shopping is by far the easiest, especially at this moment in time, but you have no real control over what you get. Others pick stuff for you. But I can’t say I have ever had a problem with what has been delivered.
Trolley shopping you have complete control cos you pick what you want and you also have the benefit of seeing offers the shops may have and also their reduced area, where you can pick up bargains to freeze. I have done that a lot with meat and it's been fine as long as you freeze it straight away.
Trolley shopping gets you out of the house to see other people, which where we live is a big plus. Internet shopping, you don't have to go out in the cold.
Returns are about the same, you either take them back to the shop or have to send them back, so no difference really. Although I think it's easier to deal with a supplier face to face and I have a case to prove that at the moment. Something has to go back to Germany. Ok, it won’t cost me, but even so it’s not as convenient as taking it back to a shop.
Ok, let’s have your views.
What do you do? Do you do both or just an internet shop? I doubt many do just trolley shop.
I have noticed that doing click and collect does save a heck of a lot of time. You aren’t wandering around the shop aimlessly, but not sure I would want to do internet shopping all the time. I do like to see people from time to time.
Let us have your thoughts and which you prefer and why. Have you always shopped the way you do now, or if it’s online is that cos of the current situation with COVID?
All are welcome.
And please feel free to share all discussions you enjoy.
Also a big thank you to Kieran for doing the main pic as I wanted it.
