Let's Eat and Drink and Enjoy It.

To true it was, and now for the boring stuff !!


Well, we all know we can't do without food and drink, so today is dedicated to them both. It's No Diet Day (something we would all love) and Beverage Day, (drinks of any shape or form).

We all would love a super fit body and be able to eat what we like, but sadly that isn't possible. Ok, none of us really want to look like the perfect Hollywood Models, although most of the pics you see of them are photoshopped, and have caused a lot of problems with causing eating disorders, as the youngsters crave a body like that.

No Diet Day has been associated with promoting a healthy lifestyle for all body types. Gone are the stupid fad diets, a sensible diet is a good thing, but not some of these stupid fad diets that are popular nowadays, and do no good at all, and offer you a quick loss of weight which is not a good thing at all. Slow and steady is the way to go.

This is very true but please remember that being overweight is dangerous to your health.

The day was started in 1992 by a Woman called Mary Evans, to help men and women around the world to appreciate their bodies. She herself had suffered from anorexia, which is a terrible disease to suffer from. The day was set up to educate people about the correct way to diet, both responsibly and with the best effect. She suggests that everybody takes a one day break from a diet. Also to celebrate the different shapes and sizes of bodies. Being over weight is not good for your health or esteem and there is no such words as I can't loose weight, we all can if we put our minds to it, but you have to want to. It's not only food that needs to be looked at , it's exercise as well. we all think we exercise but, we don't really, as I have been told walking the dog does not class as good exercise unless you speed walk the dog !

And of course on No Diet and Beverage Day drinks are allowed as well

Well today, bin the scales, eat what you want cos it tastes good. Appreciate your instinsic qualities like your kindness, sense of fun, etc. etc. Cook something you have always wanted to but never have and sit and enjoy it and have a nice bottle of wine with it.

There are too many eating disorders about nowadays, and a lot are dangerous, so if you do decide to diet after today, do it gradually and sensibly and start exercise gently and work up to doing hard exercise.


To go with food we have to have beverages, tea, coffee, water, alcohol, you name it.

Beverage day is to let us experiment with beverages and try stuff we haven't tried before . The world is your oyster !

Smoothies have become popular over the last few years, so start off with one of those for breakfast and take it from there and of course finish off the day with a nice glass of wine, or beer, which, incidentally could date back to the Neolithic period and was found in ancient Egypt, and was so weak even kids drunk it. Coca cola, was created in the late 19th century, and coffee can date back to the 16th century We can't imagine our life without some of these, although I won't drink coke, its so bad for you but is a good loo cleaner or a really dirty pan cleaner.

So try something different today, and if you don’t like it, it's not the end of the world, bin it and try something different, there are plenty of drinks out there to try

Whatever you do today eat and drink what you like and enjoy and be merry
