Let’s Eat Some Sandwiches

We all eat sandwiches at some time or another, either when we are out shopping, working, or sat at home wanting something for lunch.

The combinations of fillings are endless and are basically down to your imagination if making them at home. The shop-bought ones are very limited, bog-standard choice and a bit boring and a lot of salt and fat in them.
When we were at the market, there was a cafe that would make up whatever you wanted, provided they had the ingredients obviously.  My favourite was cream cheese, banana and honey!!

You can have sandwiches on any type of bread you like, bog-standard boring white, granary, wholemeal or any other combination you can find. There is nothing nicer than a nice crusty piece of french bread with a filling of your choice in. Although I have always called that a roll, not a sandwich.  Don’t forget the tea on the lawn and cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off !!

Bog standard shop bought sandwich.

This doesn’t look too bad.

I remember the days when if you smelt bacon cooking, you had to have a sandwich! Not any more, it’s too full of water nowadays.

Here are a few examples of what you can put in your sandwich:

Jam and peanut butter.

Ham with cheese, tomato, lettuce, avocado, and pickle  (no, not all at once).

Cold sausage with pickle, tomato or with cheese.

Bacon with tom. BLT or all incorporated in a disgusting all day breakfast one with cold egg, and cold sausage, and with cheese.

Any left over cooked meat from a Sunday roast with whatever you want.

Eggs, boiled, with mayo, with cress and with salad.

Sounds great to me!!

These look good enough to eat.

OK, the list of fillings is endless, so let us have your favourite fillings, however strange or weird, and any unusual ones you have tried.

All are welcome. And please feel free to share all discussions you enjoy.
