What's Your Favourite Pet?

OK, what’s your favourite pet? What would you have if you could, or what have you had or got now?
At the moment I have 2 dogs , 1 indoor cat and 4 permanent outdoor cats. I love them all, but dogs do have the edge for companionship and love.
Kitkat, my indoor cat and the Mother and Grand Mother of the outdoor ones, apart from Sweetpea.
Who is the only one that wasn’t actually born here. She wandered in and liked it, so stayed !!

Exactly, they deserve the love and comfort of a good home.
There are far too many of these in shelters all over the world.
There are a wide range of pets to choose from, some easier than others to look after, but before you decide on a pet you need to consider two things,
1. Can you give it the love and attention it needs 24/7?
2. Will you be able to afford to pay for any treatment that it may need in the future? We never know what our pets will need, and treatment is not cheap, and I know that from experience. I have always said I would beg, borrow or steal for my pets and they have always had the treatment they needed even if we have gone without.
If you are considering a dog or cat, consider a rescue, the shelters are full of unwanted pets for one reason or another, and believe me they make fantastic pets. They know they are rescued and boy, do they repay you, especially dogs.
I wouldn't advise buying a pet from a pet shop. If you are after something different go to a specialist and see them, and do not buy anything like that online.

Guinea Pigs, very sweet but never really appealed but very popular with kids.
I would love a rabbit, but, unfortunately, so would my dogs!
Why on earth people want these things as pets I do not understand!!

Miniature pigs seem to be quite popular nowadays and sorry but they aren’t pets to my mind same as Reptiles. Them and Reptiles need specialist knowledge really on how to keep them and need a specific environment to flourish. So leave them where they belong, in the hands of experts.
