Halloween at The Corner Café
Halloween is on Saturday 31st October this year, but what will it be like? Very different from last year I would imagine, as I doubt there will be many parties or trick and treat activities taking place.
Halloween as we all know is also called All Hallows' Eve and All Saint's Eve.
It goes back as far as the ancient Celtic harvest festivals. Its activities include apple dunking, bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted places and treat or treating.
Halloween has taken off in the UK a lot more in recent years, following the Americans I think. I personally don't agree with trick or treating as it is a form of blackmail and begging, and the tricks now get taken to an evil level at times.
To celebrate it you can decorate your house with all manner of horror stuff, create a jack-o-lantern outside your door or throw a party. Or as I do, just ignore it!!
Whatever you do to celebrate, make it fun and now I must go find my black cat and my broomstick !!
