It's International Talk Like A Pirate Day
Well, it's International Talk Like a Pirate day, so argh, me hearties, you want to learn the secrets of this day.
A ship that would bring terror to the High Seas in years gone by!
It was started in 1995 when two guys sat down and decided to start the holiday by dressing up as pirates and to talk like them.
And their notorious flag!
Just a few of the words you may wish to use today.
The day gives us a great chance to have some fun, and maybe do some good. Dress up and raise money for charities, there are plenty around that need it.
Every good pirate should have one!
Grab an eye patch, bandana, very baggy shirt and don’t forget the toy parrot or monkey and use awful grammar!
You could have a party, a pirate themed one with edible gold coins, which you have to search for, and balloon sword fights. Sounds like a plan to me.
Whatever you do make it fun and let’s remember those old blaggards of long ago in their pirate ships searching for treasure.
So, let’s spend today being a Pirate and have fun!!
