🍫🍬🍭Let's Eat Some Confectionery 🍫🍬🍭

Who doesn't eat sweets or cakes?
Come on, be honest, we all do at some time or another, some more than others.

Not being a cake lover, this thread is going to be about sweets mostly, and of course chocolate!

I remember these, they were yummy and very chewy

What to buy?!

The highlight of the day as a child was going to the sweet shop and buying sweets. They were cheap then. Most of us will remember blackjacks and fruit salad chews at a farthing each. Sherbert Flying Saucers and gob stoppers. In those days, sweets were sold loose and the shelves in the sweet shop were packed with glass jars of these lovely things. You could spend ages just standing there deciding what to have.

Flying Saucers

Ok, as an adult, you have more freedom to go and buy what you fancy, maybe a kit kat, crunchie or flake, but it's not the same thrill as when you were a child. Neither do you get sweets in glass jars to stand and look at to make your mouth water. The majority of sweets are now wrapped.

To name a few of the many many different bars available

My preference is chocolate over sweets any day, and in the UK, Cadbury's chocolate is very very popular. Basically cos of how milky it is. I have to say, it's not my favourite. There are many Cadbury’s chocolate bars, and more being worked on all the time.

Now these are to die for!

This is nice but the delux full cream one is even better

I admit to buying a bar of chocolate at times when shopping, and to be honest one of the nicest is Lidl's own brand and if you get the full cream one, it beats most other chocolates hands down.
I don’t buy supermarkets’ own brand chocolate normally, but this was recommended and it is lovely.

There are hundreds of different varieties of sweets around, and I bet none of us has the same favourite.
Where do you start? You couldn't possibly try each and every one, so I suppose we tend to stick to the same ones we know we like.

Maybe you prefer cakes, and again so many lovely ones about. Or you can make your own quite easily. They are not necessarily cheaper than bought ones, but would be nicer.

So which is your preference?
Let us know and bearing in mind confectionery is full of sugar and carbs, it is not necessarily a good plan to eat it too often. So have it as a treat, which is once in a while!
Tell us your favourite sweets or cakes and let's have a fun confectionery eating day today and blow the circumstances, but just for one day lol!

All are welcome.
And please feel free to share all discussions you enjoy.
