Well, it’s that time of year where we think about the outdoors and going for a picnic. I haven’t been for one for years, but you can’t beat them: place of your choice, food and wine of your choice and the company you like. Nothing really betters it on a nice sunny afternoon.

A picnic is a meal eaten outdoors, usually in nice surroundings either in the countryside or the beach.  They are usually family-orientated and can be eaten at any time, late morning or midday breakfast, but i prefer lunch or just a picnic on a nice sunny afternoon in the countryside by a stream you can dip your toes in. On romantic picnics, a picnic basket and a blanket is usually carried to sit or lay back on !! 

Today, there are dedicated picnic areas in parks etc. where there are benches to sit on.  I cant think of anything worse that sitting with a load of other people around and kids screaming. Give me the romantic picnic any time with a picnic basket, some good food and a bottle of wine.
